For those with a library of Maya V-Ray shaders (which may use vray-specific features), it would be nice to be able to apply a material override to the USD models and assign the native maya-vray shaders, so vray knows to ignore the USD's models shader and use the regular maya-vray material
Just wanted to add that without this feature, the only alternative is to bake every dynamic texture sequence down for every object to work with the normal native USD workflow. This creates a lot of extra work and/or pipeline scripting when it would make life much simpler to use our pre-existing vray-maya shaders as they are to override the USD material bound to each model
