VrayDisplacement Modifier is great for per-pixel or sub-pixel displacement but workflows that require geometric interaction like ForestPack, Particles etc require displaced vertices. It would be great if the VrayDisplacement Mod could displace at say a 2x SubDiv level in the viewport and for scene evaluation, but then for the actual Vray Render Raycast render against the subpixel micropoly length.
Maybe even 3 levels:
Viewport: SubDivLevel 1
Scene Evaluation: SubDivLevel 3
Render: SubDivLevel Max 256
Unfortunately, it would not be possible. We do not expose the displacement in the viewport as geometry.
